We then bring you further north again for the final destination of this extraordinary tour, the fierce and frozen Svalbard Islands which are situated between Norway and Greenland. Days 1-4: The Lofoten Islands

Four days in The Lofoten Islands:
Placed in the Nordland's region at 69º latitude and 187 miles to the north of the Arctic Circle, The Lofoten Islands rise dramatically from the sea. Spend your time in these Arctic Circle islands enjoying the distinctive scenery of beaches and mountains, open sea and sheltered bays, untouched lands and picturesque fishing villages, and of course, the pristine Arctic air. Investigate the island's Viking history, explore the world's largest deep-water coral reef and see the largest number of nesting sea birds in Norway. You'll have our top recommendations for making the most of your stay.
Private Zodiac tour of the Lofoten Islands' fjords and fishing villages:
You will be collected from your lodge, provided with dry suits and equipment and taken by a private Zodiac towards the north of the archipelago. Skirting the impressive mountains of the Vest Fjord and Raftsundet (Strait of Raft), you will reach the Troll Fjord, one of the most beautiful and emblematic parts of the islands. During the expedition you'll see local wildlife such as white-tailed eagles and enjoy lunch in a local restaurant at the whaling island of Skrova or Henningsvaer. Continue by Zodiac to the arctic fishing village of Henningsvaer where you will have time to walk around and explore one of the most beautiful fishing villages in the archipelago. You will then be returned to your lodge by car.
Private car tour of the Lofoten Islands' fjords:
Your private guide and vehicle will collect you from your hotel for your tour today. Driving through the panoramic roads of the Lofoten Islands along the coast, you will head towards the south, stopping at scenic spots. Enjoy the views of wild unspoiled white sand beaches, glacier valleys, granite mountains and polar fishing villages. Then have lunch in the fishing village of Nusfjord or Stamsund, before continuing to explore the islands towards the west coast of the archipelago. You will then be returned to your lodge.
Days 4-5: Tromso
Day in Tromso:
There are plenty of museums, shops and bars to enjoy and your travel designer will give you our top recommendations for adventures, dining and shopping so that you can make the most of your time here.
Tromso museums:
This morning head into Tromso to acquaint yourself with the vibrant city and visit some of its best museums. You'll see the Polar museum and Polaria, the world's most northerly aquarium.
Dinner at a top Tromso restaurant:
This evening, enjoy dinner at one of the best restaurants in the city, where you will taste Arctic specialties and excellent quality fish.
Days 5-8: The Svalbard Islands
Private Snowmobiling Tour on the Svalbard Islands:
You will meet your guide who will provide you with the necessary equipment for your snowmobile ride. During this private safari enjoy the impressive landscapes of this archipelago in the High Arctic and some of the most beautiful mountains of the Arctic. Cross the marine ice toward the East Coast where you will have the chance to find polar bears. Continue through the glaciers, spotting the remains of hunter(s) and trapper(s) cabins, in the middle of this incredibly remote scenery. Have an expedition lunch in the field before arriving back at your lodge.
Three days exploring the Svalbard Islands:
Explore the arctic tundra of the Svalbard Islands on exciting kayaking, trekking, snowmobiling and dog sledding tours. Today, your guide will bring you on an exhilarating snowmobile ride to the East Coast to spot polar bears. You will be provided with all the necessary equipment and you'll witness the awesome beauty of this High Arctic archipelago with plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs along the way.
Husky sledding:
Discover the excitement of harnessing your own dogs with the help of experienced sled guides. You will meet the friendly dogs and after preparing the sleds, start a fantastic and unforgettable ride. The only noise you will hear is the sound of the sledge and the dogs' paws on the snow.
Farewell dinner on the Svalbard Islands:
This evening enjoy a delicious dinner on your final night in Svalbard.
